Using IP address for vCloud calls fails

Hello

When I make calls to vCloud Director (for SP 8.10) with REST client using the IP address in the URI, it fails, while it succeeds when I use the FQDN. By the way I see same behavior in PowerCLI depending if I use IP address or FQDN in connect-ciserver connection command, which looks coherent to me as PowerCLI is just another way to call vCloud API. 

My question is: is there a way to configure vCloud Director so that it accepts calls using either IP address or FQDN ?
